How you can do it all in 4 simple steps

Behn supports everyday mobility at home with a guided step-by-step system. Depending on your situation, it can offer a more streamlined alternative to traditional disability equipment—bringing more flow to daily routines.

1. Position & dock

Roll the Behn chair up to the bedside and align it with the docking mechanism. No complicated setup or strength required. Once in position, sturdy clips lock the chair securely to the bed, forming one stable unit that’s ready for transfer.

2. Transfer at the touch of a button

Using the handheld controller, activate the bed’s built-in transfer program. The frame gently shifts and lowers in a coordinated motion, sliding your loved one or client safely onto the chair. No lifting, no suspending, and no discomfort—just a calm, natural transfer in seconds.

3. Shower & simplify hygiene

Once seated, the chair unlocks from the bed and rolls directly into the bathroom. The Behn chair is waterproof and functions as a shower chair and commode. Adjustable angles, open panels, and secure straps make bathing, drying, and dressing safe and comfortable.

4. Relax

When the care routine is complete, wheel the chair back to the bed and re-dock. Activate the return function to smoothly reposition your loved one or client into bed, or adjust the chair into a comfortable, padded day chair for use around the home or even outdoors.

From bed to bathroom—one chair does it all

As part of the fully integrated Behn system, the shower chair and commode keep clients supported from bed to bathroom and back— helping to minimise lifting, bending and repositioning.

We're here to support you

Choosing mobility and transfer support at home can be complex. That’s why we can provide clear clinical justifications, product specs, and documentation to support referrals and applications—working with individuals, OTs, GPs, and care teams to enable safe, dignified, person-centred outcomes.

Let's clear things up

Do you still have questions?

What's involved in setup and installation?

From your first conversation with us through to installation, training, and ongoing support, we’re here to guide you every step of the way—making sure Behn is set up safely and works as part of your daily routine.

Is Behn covered by NDIS assistive technology funding?

Yes, Behn may be eligible for funding or partial funding under the NDIS assistive technology scheme. Your Occupational Therapist, case manager or assessor can guide you through the application and assessment process. We're here to help too — our team can provide supporting documents, quotes, and guidance to make things easier.

Can Behn reduce the need for multiple people to assist with transfers?

Yes. Behn is designed to support daily transfers with just one person—whether that’s a spouse, parent, or support worker. Depending on the situation, it can reduce the need for additional equipment like standing or mobile hoists.

Does Behn replace other patient lifting devices?

Yes. Behn brings together the core functions of several patient lifting devices into one integrated system for home use. Depending on the situation, it may reduce the need for equipment like ceiling hoists, bed hoists, or mobile lifters—offering a smoother, more space-efficient way to support movement between bed, chair, and shower.

Is Behn easy to use for family members and support workers?

Absolutely. Behn is designed for real homes and the people who live in them. Its intuitive controls and thoughtful design are intended to support smoother transfers—so spouses, family members, and support workers can assist with confidence, without the complexity of traditional ceiling hoists or patient lifters.

Can Behn replace my existing disability bed or electric mobility bed?

Behn includes an adjustable bed that supports safe positioning and transfers. Unlike many electric beds for people with disability that require additional hoists or lifters, Behn integrates everything, making it a complete alternative.

What if my OT, GP or provider needs information?

We’re here to support your team, too. From OT toolkits to clinical specs and product demos, we’ll provide everything your health or support professionals need to ensure they have what they need to recommend the right patient lifting device for your home.
