Caring for someone at home just got smarter

Caring for someone at home comes with enough challenges—Behn makes daily movement easier, without heavy lifting or delays. Its smart, intuitive design brings together the core functions of traditional lifting equipment—like hoists, slings, and transfer chairs—into one connected system.

4 steps to seamless, single-carer transfers

From bed to shower to everyday life, Behn supports uninterrupted transfers through a guided, step-by-step system—designed to help one carer move with confidence through the day.

1. Position & dock

Roll the Behn chair up to the bedside and align it with the docking mechanism. No complicated setup or strength required. Once in position, sturdy clips lock the chair securely to the bed, forming one stable unit that’s ready for transfer.

2. Transfer at the touch of a button

Using the handheld controller, activate the bed’s built-in transfer program. The frame gently shifts and lowers in a coordinated motion, sliding your loved one or client safely onto the chair. No lifting, no suspending, and no discomfort—just a calm, natural transfer in minutes.

3. Shower & simplify hygiene

Once seated, the chair unlocks from the bed and rolls directly into the bathroom. The Behn chair is waterproof and functions as a shower chair and commode. Adjustable angles, open panels, and secure straps make bathing, drying, and dressing safe and comfortable.

4. Relax

When the care routine is complete, wheel the chair back to the bed and redock. Activate the return function to smoothly reposition your loved one or client into bed, or adjust the chair into a comfortable, padded day chair for use around the home or even outdoors.

From bed to bathroom—one chair does it all

As part of the fully integrated Behn system, the shower chair and commode keep clients supported from bed to bathroom and back— helping to minimise lifting, bending and repositioning.

Do you have questions?

What's involved in setup and installation?

We’re with you from the first conversation through to installation and beyond—guiding you step by step so you feel confident using Behn as part of your daily care routine. It’s designed for use in home environments and can be incorporated into existing care routines with the right setup and support.

Can I rent Behn to try it at home first?

Yes. We understand that many families want to see how Behn works in their daily routine before making a decision. That’s why we offer flexible rental options—so you can trial it at home without long-term commitment or pressure.

What home care equipment does Behn replace?

Behn reduces the need for multiple devices like a separate standing hoist, shower commode, or various bath stools. Instead of juggling disjointed patient lifting aids for home use, you get transfer, toileting, and showering support in a single solution.

Does Behn really reduce costs?

Behn helps lower ongoing costs of aged care by replacing traditional equipment like patient lifters, patient hoists, and ceiling hoists. It also reduces the need for reliance on paid carers, helping your funding go further and your loved one stay at home for longer.

How is Behn different from standard patient lifting equipment?

Unlike equipment found in residential aged care or aged care homes, Behn is specifically built for helping people age in place at home. It looks and feels like furniture, not sterile institutional equipment. Why not request a personal demo today to see the difference for yourself?

Is Behn just another bed and shower chair?

Behn goes far beyond a traditional chair in the shower. It's a complete transfer solution that combines bed, shower chair, and commode functions in one intelligent system—giving you back control while providing comfort for your patient or loved one, with more time for connection.

How does Behn compare to basic shower seats?

Forget the basic chair for inside shower concept or a basic plastic shower seat from retail stores. Behn feels like quality furniture, not medical equipment—combining comfort, dignity, and intelligent functionality in one elegant solution.

How does Behn compare to other home care equipment?

Behn is more than a hospital bed for home, it’s a full care solution. It reduces clutter, cost, and the physical strain often placed on families. Instead of piecing together multiple patient lifting devices, you get one system that simplifies care and helps your loved one feel more comfortable at home.
